We headed east this weekend- Edie and friends wanted to go to Something In The Water – a music festival being put together by Pharrell in Virginia Beach, which gave me an excellent excuse to visit with one of my college girlfriends, Sheilah and her husband Rob and family. Continue reading

Titles are my weakness.
As I attempt to break through the wall of writer’s bloc fortified with real life, here’s a few topics I’ve either threatened to write about, have actually put words down, only to be completely dissatisfied with them OR had it kindly suggested by friends that I should write about. In no particular order: Continue reading
Middle Aged KonMari.
There has been a good bit of life keeping me distracted here lately – nothing terribly worthy of putting out on the internet for everyone to read. Continue reading
Showing up.
At some point Wednesday morning, I’m still not exactly sure what it was that set me off, I decided I needed to head up to DC to protest Brett Kavanaugh show support for Dr. Christine Blasey Ford at her Senate Judiciary hearing. Continue reading
Celebrating them.
A few months ago, my girl had asked if we could rent a nearby cabin for her sixteenth birthday party. We had previously rented Dunlodge for her dad’s fortieth birthday a few years ago and found it to be a lovely hidden little spot in town. Sixteen being a big deal, I went for it. It occurred to me at one point, if I was ever going to write one of those holiday letters, this would be the year to do so, as it’s been quite the eventful year for us. Which is when I got the brilliant idea to just do one of those in this space, seeing how pretty much everyone that reads here regularly are either related to us or friends. Continue reading
Quality Mother Daughter Time.
Summer evenings in the neighborhood.

Our neighborhood is located in a small hollow. It’s rare that we get sunsets – when we do see color in the evening sky, we know it must be absolutely spectacular to the rest of the world. Continue reading
At the lake, again.
And we’re back from another trip to the lake with Will and the kids. Because it’s July and it’s hot and the best solution to all that is to just head to the lake. Continue reading
Efribbits.
My friend Steve called me up a few weeks ago and asked if he could stay with us while in town for his upcoming college reunion. But of course! Could he bring his college roommates too? It wasn’t the first time he’d brought total strangers to stay at our house, but giving me a heads up was thoughtful – and how could I say no? Continue reading
