Thank you all for your kind words on the loss of my cousin Henry. Last week was brutal, just plain and simple.
We are slowly getting back into the swing of things here. It’s amazing the restorative power of a pot of vegetable soup, freshly baked bread & homemade chocolate pudding can have. Did I mention the pudding was dark chocolate? If I was a better food blogger, I’d have written this post around recipes for at least one of those home cooked items, with beautiful images. But I’m not. And to be honest, the pudding was not entirely smooth. The phone rang AND there was a knock at the door as I came to a critical point in pudding making. Oh well. It was still pretty darn edible, even if it wasn’t perfect. Such is life. Not always perfect, but still pretty darn tasty if you can get past the lumps.
Welcome back. I hope you continue to find comfort in perfect things like vegetable soup.
Thank you. After a week of not really eating, it’s good to have family meals together.

Metaphorical pudding. I’m glad you have comfort food in addition to your comfort people right now.
What’s the old saying about the proof is in the pudding? It’s like that.
